Every other person who has some knowledge about anaplan wants to know whether he/she should use anaplan or excel to model their business statements. If you don't know what anaplan is then just

There are many such things which you either can't do on excel or its very complicated & time inefficient task to do. Here in this short blog we are going to talk about 4 such things.
In Anaplan, we can apply security layer up to a cell level which means that we can restrict an individual user to read or write a specific cell in an anaplan module. We can even decide the access of individual module & list depending upon their roles in the organization.
Here we can easily give write access to a particular user for a particular product by making a simple Access driver module.
we can also give user specific list member access in anaplan. So in the below case, we can give sales managers access to the data depending upon their assigned territory. To replicate this feature on excel we have to create multiple spreadsheets which is not a good option.
In Anaplan multiple users can work simultaneously on the model & can easily see the real time changes ongoing in the model. This is possible because of its cloud based structure which helps multiple users to work simultaneously in an efficient way. While in case of spreadsheets, they are generally designed for a single user.
Anaplan has a multidimensional structure because of its Hyperblock technology as compared to Excel which is 2 dimensional.

In the above example, by just changing the sales example in the page selector we can easily add data for different sales examples & to replicate above in Excel we have to make multiple spreadsheets (i.e. one for each sales example) which is quite a cumbersome process.
In Anaplan, we can easily make a hierarchical list & can input data in it, which is not possible in the case of excel.
